Cosmetology Instructor
The objective of the Cosmetology Operator program is to provide the student with the necessary skills to perform all of the services normally associated with cosmetology, including hair styling, hair coloring, manicuring, facials, and shampooing in order to meet the requirements of the State of Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation and pass the examination, both written and practical, administered prior to issuing a license to perform cosmetology services.

The Cosmetology Instructor Program at Nuvani Institute will help students’ develop skills in all facets of cosmetology, including hair styling and coloring, manicures, facials, and shampooing. Our qualified cosmetology instructors learn all the skills and techniques they need to teach others the art of cosmetology. The practical training sessions at Nuvani also emphasize developing leadership qualities and teaching techniques, as well as the real world communication skills needed by a cosmetology instructor.
50 Clock hours
Students will be introduced to the principles of instruction, including methods, class limitations, individual and group instruction, and the art of being able to adapt to the needs of the students.
350 Clock hours
The four-step teaching plan is introduced, which includes preparation, presentation, application, and testing. Basic teaching methods are employed, which includes lecture, demonstration, discussion, conference, project assignments, question and answer sessions, and testing. Teaching aids are used, to include overhead projectors, videos, handouts, models and extensive use of live patrons.

Proper classrooms management and control is taught, along with proper keeping of attendance records, grades, progress reports, maintaining supplies and materials, and weekly and monthly reports. The instructor is also taught to recognize classroom problems, such as heating, cooling, ventilation, and elimination of hazards. Time management is presented to enable the instructor to plan presentations to meet standards established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Day Program: 20 Weeks
Evening Program: 30 Weeks
The student must complete a total of 750 clock hours, must be able to complete within 150% of the published length of the program, and have satisfactory progress in both academic, as well as, practical training. The student must maintain an average of at least 70% on both academic and clinical work.
