What is the Cosmetology Manicure Specialist program at Nuvani Institute?
The Cosmetology Manicure Specialist program prepares students for a career as a licensed nail technician, covering manicures, pedicures, nail sculpting, nail art, nail health, and chemistry in manicuring. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect current industry trends.

Students train with the latest equipment and supplies, and the program is designed to prepare graduates for the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation licensing exams.

How many clock hours is the Cosmetology Manicure Specialist program?
The program totals 600 clock hours across seven courses. To graduate, students must maintain an average of at least 70% in both academic and practical work and complete the program within 150% of its published length.

The day program is 20 weeks* and the evening program is 30 weeks* when completed in normal time.

What will I learn in Nuvani's nail technician program?
The program covers seven course areas: Manicuring Orientation, Manicuring Procedures, Arms and Hands, Nerves, Nails, Chemistry in Manicuring, and Professional Practices. Students learn basic and oil manicures, pedicures, foot and hand massages, nail art, artificial nails, and nail wrapping.

The Professional Practices course also covers client appointment management, record control, and Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation requirements.

What license do I need after completing the Manicure Specialist program in Texas?
Upon completing the program, students must take and pass both the written and practical exams administered by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation. A State of Texas Student Cosmetology License is also required during training.

The program’s objective is specifically designed to prepare students to meet all TDLR requirements and pass these exams.
